I knew Dr. Harrell professionally before I came to him as a dentist. I actually came to him as a referral for an implant. I kinda came to him as a second opinion but I knew of his work before I came to see him. I was in a car accident when I was 11 and the damage to the bone caused, at this age, the tooth loss.
On the X-ray they determined that the bone that was holding that tooth — it had had a root canal, etc. — was actually disappearing. It was eroding. So, that tooth had to come out. But I was fortunate to come to Dr. Harrell and he caught it quick enough so that it was limited to that one tooth. And I didn’t lose more than one tooth. Dr. Harrell did, in the process of the extraction, he did some bone grafting then. And then he had to do more bone grafting when he put the actual implant in. We just haven’t finished the process of putting the crowns on.
When I walked in and did the consult, he did all the X-rays. He said let’s take a look. Let’s look at the whole situation. Let’s look at what’s going on and we’ll develop a plan from there. Let’s see what’s going on first. And he answered every single question I had. When I walked out that day there was no question in my mind that Dr. Harrell was the one. And the best to do what I needed done.
